When you start a business, I think it’s important to know your WHY. Ok, fine, someone else told me that, but I also think it’s important:-) Your why is like the train track that makes your business train stay on its course. When someone first asked me what my why was, my answer was that I think this idea is fun and that girls like to have options! While that is the reason behind the idea, my WHY is actually different. My WHY are my two girls. You see, I came up with this idea nearly 5 years ago……..5 years ago, people! What took me so long to get to this point you ask? Self doubt. Worry. Did I mention self doubt? My girls saw me working on this idea, being excited about it and then eventually putting it aside. They would ask me why I wasn’t working on “the purses”. I never had a good answer because I did still love the idea, I just didn’t think I could do it. I felt guilty because I knew I should be showing them how to be a confident woman that takes chances. So one day, I decided to do just that. I started with one step: I took out all of my original supplies, homemade samples, and notes. And the next day I took another step. Then another. Lots of little baby steps if you’re catching my drift. And maybe it was taking me a little longer than I would have liked, but I was doing it. Because of them. And there are still days when I think I’m in over my head, but then I look at them and realize I have to keep going. Because my WHY won’t let me get off this train and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
